One of my favourite traditional pubs - which is probably getting easier as the rest become gastro pubs. Good homely food and a lovely relaxed surroundings. Meal out with teenagers after a busy weekend, nice to sit by a real fire and relax

what a great country pubstunning setting, the menu was all standard that you would expect in a pub like thisthe food came out in a very good time, and was lovelythe only downside is it seems to be very busy, but hey that cant be helped in such a nice place
Great country inn with lots of history and character. Lovely views, nice to sit outside in the summer and watch the resident peacocks. Good selection of food and beer.
A group of 8 and a group of 2 of us arrived at 20:55 after checking the website stating open until 23:00, to be told we have now shut for the evening, when it was pointed out the website stated 11pm closing a member of staff said , oh we usually shut at about 8. So please be aware of this before having a nice hours drive out! Do not rely on the website! I certainly would not be turning away 10 customers mid-week, which will be 10 customers not coming again!
